I think this would be a super fun way to get on track before the summer starts. It’s basically an online game where participants put money in a pot and work towards losing 4% of their starting weight in 4 weeks. There is something to be said about someone that inspires others, it is my goal to be that someone.
I’m sure many of you have heard about Michael Moore and his “virtual walks” and if you haven’t, you need to read about it here. On March 18, 2012, Michael decided to go for a walk and America decided to join him. By the end of the week there were thousands of people in hundreds of cities and towns walking with Michael. Night after night people wrote… Michael asking to walk again and feeling obligated, he did. The reason you may ask? There was no reason at all, no prize at the end or specific goal to meet. They did it because they could and the benefits that came along with it were priceless.
Michael’s story inspired me and it was one of the many reasons I have decided to host the From Flab to Fit Accountability Group on Facebook. Starting April 14th we will encourage each other, work out together and share our ups and downs for a total of 15 days. It will be the perfect way to jumpstart your body for bikini/Speedo season!
I personally will be doing the ChaLean Extreme program but I invite you to use any Beachbody program suited to your needs. Note: if you have questions about which Beachbody program is right for you, just ask! I’m happy to help!

Whooohoo! I’m down 20 pounds and I have lost a total of 7” from just my waist and hips alone.
Now that I feel in control of my food/meal planning routine, I think it’s time to up the ante with a more intense fitness program. I have done some research and decided to order Chalene Johnson’s ChaLean Workout Program.
The program was introduced to me by a Beachbody coach by the name of Kelli Hulst. Kelli is hosting a challenge that starts on April 8th that I have also decided to be a part of. I’m really excited to see where Beachbody takes me and I hope that it will inspire others to join along in my journey.
By purchasing a work out program I was told that I could have the sign up fee to become a Beachbody Coach waived, how exciting is that?! I figure that if I’m going to share my journey I may as well help others along the way right?! I am happy to say that I’m now a proud Coach of Beachbody’s Team Platinum Legacy.
Life is great right now and I’m so excited to embark on this new adventure! I know there will be hard days, some tears and challenges that my body will face, but that’s okay. That’s what a great Beachbody team, husbands and epsom salt baths are for right?!

I live in one of Canada’s most rainy cities, and on average we experience 166 days of rain a year. This being said, you would think that the locals would be used to it right? No! Vancouverites have a tenancy not to enjoy ANY type of weather. If it’s raining, your co-workers are depressed, if it’s sunny out it’s too hot and the sky-train reeks! You just can’t win! As you can imagine, this weather phobia we have keeps people from doing a lot of things like going for walks or spending time outside. I have decided to try not be one of “THOSE” people.
It was pouring rain a few nights ago and the last thing I wanted to do was go for a walk. But I did it, I tied up my shoes, turned my music up high and went for it. I walked at total of 4 miles, got soaking wet and LOVED every second of it. I burnt a ton of calories and it was a great work-out!
There’s something incredibly invigorating about letting fresh rain drops bead down your cheeks. I will definitely be going on another wet walk this week!
We are back from our mini vacation to Bellevue, WA . We had such a nice time together and we stayed on track the entire weekend.
We went to the gym, swam in the beautiful lap pool and walked a ton each day. It was nice to be staying in a hotel where fitness and healthy options were available to us at all times.
I was amazed by the Westin Hotel’s commitment to fitness! They have implemented so many new programs as part of their Westin Workout initiative. How cool is this! Forgot your runners?! No problem!
Don’t like to run by yourself or want to run an interesting path in the city you happen to be staying at? Great! Select Westin Hotel’s now have Running Concierge’s to guide you along your choice of 3 (city, rural or beach) 5 mile runs.
I’m happy to say that because “I won” this weekend, I feel in control of my decisions today. The old me would have headed straight to The Cheesecake Factory, P.F Changs and a local cupcake shop. Instead, I indulged in a fantastic healthy meal at a high-end steak house and had frozen yogurt once as a TREAT.
I think that The Westin was a big help, it was so nice to have constant heathy reminders, whether it be the gym or the healthy options on the restaurant menu.
Oh and what would be a trip to the states with out shopping you ask? I swapped out my regular high-heel & dress shopping routine for some pretty sweet new workout gear!
