More of the thin and less of the sin

Eat this not that

The blog I had prior to this one was a very food focused blog that highly entertained the foodie in me, I’m sure it is also half of the reason I got a free membership to the chubby club as well. This prior love for food and creativity in the kitchen is what made me very hesitant about doing the Slow-Carb Diet. The diet suggests that you try to eat the same meals day in and day out, considering that I am hoping that this becomes a “lifestyle” change I am hoping that this step is not vital to my success. This all being said, I will eat from each of the designated food groups just in different ways eg. poached eggs one day, scrambled the next. While I commend the people that can eat the same meal everyday I would get so bored so fast. Funny enough, as I typed the last sentence I can think of about 10 things my previous lifestyle could have eaten every day no problem: Dim Sum is for sure number 1! Love that stuff and Thai food would probably follow quite closely behind along with the remaining garbage like chips and doughnuts. Who knows maybe my taste buds will adapt and my mouth will water for meats, vegetables and legumes.

To give you an example of a typical weekend breakfast prior to the 4-hour body see below:

Angel Food Cake French Toast, Hand Whipped Cream, Grand Marnier Strawberries and Bacon.

Now don’t get me wrong it was friggen delicious! It is just one of those things that should be made maybe once a year!

This morning I made a Slow-Carb friendly breakfast scramble consisting of zucchini, onion, mushroom, spinach and bacon topped with two poached organic eggs and a drizzle of homemade hollandaise sauce.

Not so bad right? I could get used to this!
